Finally, I'm able to share this event with you guys! Last September I entered my first design competition called "The Heat of Fashion". This was a crazy time for me.... the week before the event I was in New York Volunteering for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I left to New York with nothing made but one piece, which was the lace skirt with the crop top. I intended to have all the pieces ready before I left to New York for 10 days but school and projects got in the way.
With all that said, I created this collection in a matter of 6 days! I really don't know how I did it but I know God was with me the whole time on that sewing machine. I would go to sleep at 5am and wake up the next day for class at 7am. As soon as I got home from school I would start sewing again on the pieces. I'm lucky enough to work in my parents business and they were very supportive on this project that i was tackling.
It wasn't easy to accomplish this but somehow I managed. I had to bring my own models and why not include my gorgeous friends in the mix. I'm lucky enough that they were willing to help me in the process. They spent the whole day getting their make-up and hair done. Even though it was a stressful event at least I got to spend it with my friends and we will all able to enjoy the process together.
